about

Laura Mitchell Books

Laura Mitchell Books was created to fill a gap: writing about autism and autistic burnout that speaks directly to autistic adults, in plain language, without clinical distance or unnecessary pressure.

Our books cover the areas that matter most in daily life — recovering from burnout, building sensory-friendly routines, navigating relationships and work, and understanding what autism looks like across different life stages and cultures. Every title is developed through in-depth research into autistic burnout and neurodivergent experience, drawing on published research, autism advocacy resources, and ongoing conversations within the autistic community.

A note on the name: “Laura Mitchell” is a pen name and brand persona for this project, rather than a single identifiable author. We use AI tools, including for the imagery associated with the name, as part of how we research, draft, and produce our books and articles. We’re sharing this openly because we think readers evaluating guidance about something as personal as autistic burnout deserve to know how that guidance is made.

What doesn’t change is the standard we hold our content to: every book and article is reviewed as part of our editorial process before it’s published, with the same goal in mind — writing that is calm, respectful, practical, and easy to return to, for autistic readers and the people who care about them.
